NoStress - Log Day 3 - “That’s all I can give yea cap’n”

Another rolling night with flukey winds saw us clear of the last of the Canary Islands and in open water with not another boat in sight for the whole day. We weren’t completely alone though. Gremlins had managed to stowaway onboard yacht NoStress! The PC navigation software refused to play ball and the generator decided it only liked running for five minutes at a time.

No time for chess games today. Everyone rolled up their sleeves and got to work. Lots of diagnostic tests, one spare laptop, an oil & filter change and several hours later and things still weren’t exactly going to plan. The software wasn’t fixed, but we have a workaround. And, despite a long afternoon with lots of attention from the crew, the generator still isn’t playing ball, but we have a plan - more to come in tomorrow’s instalment.

Despite the technical issues it was another fine day for sailing and we made good progress chasing the edge of the weather west, still north of the majority of the fleet.

The team are beginning to settle into a rhythm now and we managed to have a hearty meal of beef stew together before sundown and the preparation for the night shift.

As I finish writing this I’m very happy to say that the conditions are much smoother than yesterday as I am on the 2:30 am watch tonight so am hoping for some sleep before then.

Sweet dreams All!

Alex & the NoStress crew
