Timshel - Galapagos to Marquesas Day 6

Sailing all day in the sunshine. After passing the 8 S deg mark at midday we bore away onto a beam reach to head more directly towards our destination, with all white sails set; in our case this is Mainsail, Yankee, Staysail. We contemplated bearing away more and hoisting the cruising chute, but at 13 knots of wind a lot of the time this might have been rather close to the limit for that sail, anyway we were making 6 knots or more most of the time, so better to keep the lightweight sail for when we really needed it. A lot of the fleet reported squalls with lightning, a least we just got the torrential rain and rather more wind than most last night. So far today its been fine hopefully it will remain so, but need to keep a look out for rain clouds. The fleet has not caught many fish so far, with the whole Jambon to eat we haven't even deployed our lines yet. Lovely moon at least for the first part of the night, great to be able to see, and no squalls.
