Adagio - Not much wildlife, but a great ride!

We've been at seas for three days now and have not managed to spot a single, solitary example of ocean wildlife ... unless you count the flying fish. I'm concerned about those fish .. they seem confused about the boundaries of water and air and for whatever reason they tale to flight, it just never lasts. Oh sure, some of them can travel quite a ways, but eventually they must face the reality of ground effect aerodynamics and suffocation and plop back into their home environment. I really worry that the stress of such duality leads to depression among the species, as can only be surmised by the suicidal ones that land on our deck from time to time. If only we could talk to them! Explain that life is worth living and that it's GOOD to be a fish that can fly. But no, they just won't listen and continue to skim away as if we were some leviathan of the deep bent on their becoming a meal. Ah well, one can only do so much, so we revel in their antics just above the waves and wish them all a great day.

Adagio is having a good sail. No problems to report and spirits are good aboard. The food is good, the wind is favorable and systems aboard are working well. We returned from Martinique barely two weeks prior to the Rally having had some rather extensive refit to the forestay and furler assembly and it is performing better than it ever has. Several other maintenance items were accomplished during our stay in Martinique (an Amel factory service point) and so far everything has been flawless.

We've settled into our watch schedules (although there is some debate over exactly when we will roll the clocks forward, as some lucky person gets a shortened shift :) and even though we have just recently passed the halfway point, we are already talking about some of the sights and 'must do' activities to look forward to in Bermuda. We have high anticipation of a very cool stay in Bermuda (Steve and Lynn (our crew) have been there before but Robin and I have not)and we might even have to go shopping for more Fritos!

Hope everyone is having a good sail, or a good time following along. It's been quite and adventure so far and we are essentially still just getting to the good stuff :)
