Luna Quest - Sunday, March 15th, 2015

Noon Position: 7.53S 114.00W

Daily run: 149 miles

We are half way between the Galapagos and the Marquesas. Another eleven days before we make landfall. LUNA QUEST is as steady and reliable as ever. The Hydrovane steers the boat untiringly and the wind varies between 12 knots and 23 knots. This morning I took all reefs out of the sails in 12 knots of breeze and put them back in again this afternoon when a stronger wind tends to luff the boat towards the South, whereas we wish to go more west.

Julia has recovered remarkably well. Today she made some empenades (spelling uncertain) and a batch of bread from dough made with spelt flower, wheat germ, honey and sunflower seeds. We have run out of fresh meat, but we still have vac-packed meat and plenty of vegetables and fruit.
