El Mundo - 05/12 - Amanda's Ode from the Ocean

Quiet day, not many miles and no fish.....apart from the tiniest flying fish. This is the anniversary of Columbus first setting foot on Hispaniola (Haiti & Dominican Republic) in 1492 and the day of the Great London Smog of 1952, thought to have killed 12,000 people. On a happier note, less than 1000 miles to go, so about time we had one of Amanda's poems....

An Ode from the Ocean

It's time I wrote a rhyme
But really I haven't had time!
Checking the veg, lemons and limes,
Dealing with all the chores and grime,
Filling the water bottles
and putting them in line,
Rig checks, looking for chafe
......that tell-tale warning sign.
On El Mundo everything seems fine
And our Dorado count stands at nine.
We enjoy a daily sundowner of wine,
Then delicious dishes on which we dine.
For winter at home we do not pine,
Of Christmas on the ocean there is no sign.
How different is this sea life of mine!

OK, the Dorado count is actually eleven but I guess that wouldn't really work!
