Archer - In Archer's Wake

Remember the tale of Finnigan's Wake and the lilting Irish tune that goes with it? Poor 'ol Dan Finnigan died and was dressed in his coffin for his wake. The wake got so rowdy that one of his mates spilled whiskey on him.....at which point, Dan awoke from 'the dead" and joined in the fun. Carolyn was on watch last night .... it was a quiet night and she decided to write a song to the tune of Finnigan's Wake to memorialize the passage. If you download the tune, you can sing along....

CHORUS:
The mighty Archer charges on.
Many change of sail we must make.
We encounter others across the pond
For now they're all in Archer's Wake.

VERSE 1:
Bouncing on the tramp at our feet
The big red reacher flying overhead
We coil up the nice clean sheets
And we reef the sails when we go to bed.

CHORUS

VERSE 2:
Meals of spice and curry we do have
Racer Richard creacks his whip
Endless reef lines we must shake
And hope for the return of Cruiser Rick.

CHORUS

VERSE 3:
We check the SOG, we check the COG,
The range and bearing of the Elks,
Out-Rageous crossings in the log.
We reach along and the butter melts.

CHORUS
VERSE 4:
As we close in to the finish line
Good firends we are and we've made
Who cares for victory, we'll dojust fine
And the memories will be hard to fade

CHORUS

SV ARCHER
Crew: Rick and Julie Palm and Carolyn Grant
