El Mundo - 27/11 - Oyster Feet healing.....

Some good steady sailing over the last 24 hours, covering 180 miles. Changed back to a starboard reach early yesterday and have had pretty good wind ever since, though some variable patches. Bringing the pole in, the inboard end tripped, detaching itself from the mast, so we were dancing around on the foredeck for a while with the weight of the pole but all was fine and we secured the release catch to prevent that recurring.
The faulty sump float switch was replaced, so that's all working again too.

Now we are 3 days out, the 'Oyster Feet' are finally starting to heal. This is a condition brought on by catching numerous deck fittings inside your little toe. The first time you do it, it hurts....by the time you have done it several times to the same toe, the pain increases significantly......and there are a lot of deck fittings!

We have been fishing for two days and got a bite.....must have been a big one....it took the lure and most of the line from one rod before the line snapped....oh well, we probably didn't want to land anthing that size anyway.
We continue to have enjoyable conversations with Juno on SSB radio, it's fun to compare notes and be ridiculed for using the engine!

We had Fajitas for dinner last night as some of the peppers are not lasting well and needed to be eaten. Dessert was a slice of Amanda's delicious carrot cake. Also had an attempt at making ciabatta bread in a new floppy carbon thingy that acts the mixing bowl, kneading board and cooking tin....results will be tested for breakfast shortly.
