Altair is the first to be welcomed in Mindelo

Altair, a Sparkman & Stevens Sloop from 1996, was the first out of the ARC+ fleet to arrive in Mindelo last evening at 19h 12m 15s (UTC-1). They were in time to catch the stunning sunset whilst approaching Marina Mindelo.

Owner Robert said they had a very enjoyable sail. The crew also reported the first sightings of sea life having captured footage of a pod of Dolphins and a turtle during their sail.

Altair made for an exciting sail on the first leg, sailing wing on wing with Clarelsa before jibing in front of Africa on to a broad reach.

During the next 24 hours we expect a further 10 boats to complete the first leg of ARC+.
