The World ARC programme in Panama is very busy. The events began with a Panama City Tour to El Casco Viejo (The Old City), founded on 21 January 1673 after the destruction of Panama La Vieja (Old Panama) in 1671 by pirate Henry Morgan and 1200 men who sailed up the Chagres River to the city which they then plundered and reduced to ruins.El Casco Viejo is a fabulous old town in which to stroll around, with the most amazing old buildings that have been beautifully restored.
One of the most memorable event was the Party Bus, an old bus completely transformed with a bar, a DJ and enough room to dance.There are some seats, strap handles and poles to hold on to.
The buses drove very slowly around the city for 90 minutes and onboard everybody was dancing and partying. A great experience for all the crews!
The evening after we had an excellent Lebanese Crew Dinner at Beirut Restaurant: the dinner was marvellous in all aspects - food, atmosphere and the entertainment with live music and belly dancers!
Crews last few days did provisioning before heading off across the Pacific. Everyone is fully prepared to go exploring the Las Perlas islands, which are about 35 miles offshore.
