Dala - From Harry on Dala...you said Tai Chi ?

Hi there, happy blog readers allover the world

Just a few words to share with you a long story which has ended right now.

As my brother told you a few days ago, we have been dreaming of sailing over the oceans since a very very long time. Moitessier, Slocum, Wakelam, and so many great sailor have modeled our young minds.

When I was 17, I saw once on TV a film about Tai Chi Chuan, (yes you know it, these chinese people who are moving slowly in a sort of strange fight in slow motion early in the morning). At that time, I have been been fascinated by this video where it was said Tai chi is a very ancient taoist martial art which gave birth to all the others. Then I thought "yes, this is the solution to prevent the atrophy of the muscles during a long sail travel ! One day I will learn this art to be in a good shape during my circumnavigation !! I swear ! "
I finaly push the door of my first tai chi master in Marseille......but twenty years after this whish ! sometimes dreams last to realize ;-) I have to confess that my profession and my life drove me far from my childhood dreams but the desire to learn this art have remained along the time. Actually Tai Chi became a passion for me during more than twenty year and I have been rising my practice level with great masters allover the world, France, China, Hawai, California... Fighting with bare hands, pole or swords is as well a kids dream that I assume completely that but I will never forget how this story has started : I wanted to learn Tai Chi to practice on a sailing boat !
That's the funny part of the story : it is strictly IMPOSSIBLE !! Cause you really need a flat and stable base under your feet in order to practice Tai Chi, not a moving Boat!!!

I was completely wrong on this point when I was 17teen but that gave me the luck to discover a treasure.

Don't forget that my friends, whatever you do in your life, the important is not the goal but the way .

I love you . Harry on Dala

A few words now for my Portuguese friends to whom I owe so much

Abraco Harry no Dala
