Exody - Day 24 - 3rd December - Golden Day

What a contrast to yesterday- cleanest, clearest horizon virtually free of any cloud and certainly no squalls! Sun glistening on a calm sea with just enough wind to push us along at 4.5/5 knots - we'd rather more but this along with the 31/32 temperature really feels like the Caribbean now. We can just about forgive the tradewinds for blowing light on this our second last full day at sea. The multiple blues and hues contributed to it being a very calming day and night with much time spent simply gazing at the magical sea and sky under sun then moon. We feel the Atlantic is eeking out our experiences at her leisure!

With yesterday's grey windy day, our days run to 12 noon UTC was 123 miles - daylight arrival on Friday however now looking a target too far with the continued light winds! By then it will be virtually full moon so we'll have that illumination.

We were relatively close up with another yacht- we think maybe Kia Ora last evening (no AIS). We were then slowly overhauled by another non AIS, unidentified yacht from middle of the day onward until we parted courses at sunset. A tanker called the Profit en route to Bahamas showed up after nightfall visually and on AIS on a converging course with CPA (Closest Point of Approach) of under half a mile. She did not alter course (we were motoring by this time and we were the stand -on vessel) so we radio-ed her and slowed down to allow her to pass close by our bow.

Culinary offers getting a bit repetitive now- ham (that longlasting spanish smoked type that we are glad we did not buy a whole leg of !), cheese, crackers and red wine for lunch, tuna pasta bake for dinner. Discovered some eggs to be rotten - a most unpleasant find - so need to sort our storage solution for subsequent passages.

Refrigeration and power continue to challenge us so the technical list for tackling in St Lucia is growing!
