Purrr-fect - Leg Two - day 5: wind and squalls all day

Yesterday we hoped for more wind, and today we got more than we hoped for. The day dawned with lines of storm clouds all around, and squall clouds full of rain threatening. During the course of the day, we changed sails and direction numerous times, always hoping the wind would settle in that direction. Unfortunately, the squall lines meant that the winds would clock from 30-60 degrees, and we would need to gybe to maintain a favorable course. Exhausting day! And we got soaked making a sail change during the last heavy rain. At least there was a full rainbow this evening to enjoy.

Finally it is after midnight and we have just completed yet another sail change. Maybe this will stay constant so the "offwatch" crew can get some rest during the night. With 3 of us on board, we normally stand 3 hour watches overnight. This means that each of us could get a luxurious 6 hours of sleep. However, with all the sail changes recently, we have needed all 3 of us numerous times. Yawn!
