Longbow of Argyll - Baltic Rally 1: the Prequel

Ted and Jane left Inverness with a crew of 3 onboard Longbow in windy weather on the 2nd of June, and arrived in Skagen on the 8th of June after a bumpy crossing.

After a short recovery period, Longbow then wended her way south through the islands of Denmark on her way to Kiel for the start of the Baltic rally. Highlights of the trip include the wonderful anchorage at Dyvig (with a nerve-wrackingly narrow shallow entrance) and an unexpected sojourn in Bogense due to strong winds and a very narrow canal-like harbour. The enforced stay meant that the crew explored much more of the landward-side of Denmark than they had anticipated, but saw some great sights.

The final stopover in Denmark before the passage to Kiel was in Marstal, where Britt's uncle was wonderfully hospitable.

Longbow arrived in Schilksee on the 2nd of July ready to finish the last few jobs, stock the fridge and take a breather before the arrival of the first Baltic Rally crew.
