Paw Paw - Log Day 241: "Paw Paw was a bit Poo Poo Today"

While Elaine took a dinghy ride with Nina to visit the works of a local artist at the "Ark Gallery", a little floating art gallery in the anchorage, Roy got busy with some of our Must Do tasks in preparation for our sail to Fiji. Unfortunately Elaine had forgotten that one of those tasks included the much loved one that every sailor looks forward to - fixing a head (aka toilet).

Nina and Elaine had no sooner returned to Paw Paw for morning coffee when we were greeted with the beautiful aroma. Needless to say, we decided to abandon the idea because, as Lynda so aptly put it: " Paw Paw is a bit poo poo today". The good news though, is that the head is fixed.

A definite highlight of our entire South Pacific experience, however, will be the dinner we enjoyed at La Paella Restaurant tonight. Words escape us on how to describe the experience.

Besides the unusual, but absolutely delicious tapas as well as the paella, all cooked on
an open fire, the setting, which resembled more of a treehouse with its rustic homemade furniture overlooking the bay and the goat that wondered around, was not surpassed by the entertainment show provided.

As Roy put it, the wife/owner, who was so serious, looked more like something out of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the husband/onwer, like something out of a cave and the stage beyond words, with its gold sequenced curtain as a backdrop to bits of wood that served as mic stands and seats. With both of them and the chef on stage singing a variety of very out of tune Spanish songs and the goat wondering around, we were transported into another world and had the time of our lives. A truly memorable night!
