Au Revoir Reunion!

03 November 2022

Yesterday the World ARC fleet gathered on the pier at le port for the last meeting before the start for Richards Bay, South Africa.

It was a nice evening, with drinks, food, speeches and music; all participants attended and also members from the local sailing clubs were invited, along with the Marina team and local yachties. During the evening Tony, from Ko Tangaroa, after a very much appreciated speech passed the World Arc jacket to Masa, from Nakula.

Early during the afternoon participants attended the Skipper Briefing at Dodo Diving Centre; the crews discussed the factors that will be affecting the leg from Reunion to Richards Bay, probably the most challenging passage on the whole World ARC, with wind, waves and current deeply influencing the routing of the crossing.

At around 0930 in the morning all yachts were cleared out form the Custom and Immigration officer and after a quick refuelling departed for the Leg14 from Reunion to Richards Bay, South Africa.

Bon vent!
