Farewell Fiji!

09 July 2016

The World ARC programme at Musket Cove Resort and Marina, Fiji is coming to a close after a busy few days of partying and fun. The resort is an ideal place for the fleet to meet up after several weeks of free cruising and all the crews appreciated being on the dock or the moorings, close to one another.

The welcome at Musket Cove Resort has been as warm as ever and the attention of the wonderful staff, second to none. The experience here begins with a friendly welcome on the VHF from Patrick and Bale in the Yacht Club office and continues with each friendly Bula! from the resort staff.

Before the start the crews enjoyed a Welcome Drink and BBQ in front of the beach, a Beach Sport Morning with blind canoeing, tug of war, and beach volley and a great party at the main restaurant at Musket Cove on Thursday evening.

It was a really special evening with great food and local entertainment provided by staff members of Musket Cove Resort. The fleet said farewell to boats leaving the Rally, Blue Summit, Chilli Bee, Heidi 2.0 and Take Off and wished them well with their future plans.

Today the fleet took a smooth start with 8 kn of northerly breeze and flat sea; at the departure the first to cross the line was Mearra Nieida followed by Carango and then Mystique Soul, next stop Tanna Vanuatu!

World Cruising Club, on behalf of the World ARC fleet, sincerely thank the owners and management of Musket Cove Resort and Marina, for hosting the Rally and we very much look forward to our next visit in 2017.
