Lexington - Captain Bob: 1/22/2018 15*47'south. 10*19'west

We are sailing along toward Salvador de Bahia. It will take 10-12 days. It is 05:00 and I am on watch. I have had a few periods of light wind but mostly 12-15 knots of wind , no rain, about 60 degrees F
I have been trying to plan my return into a productive society. I do not have a job to go back to as I have retired from my medical practice. I have many things on my to do list because I have neglected the farm , garden and yard for over a year. Because I have a lot of time on the boat to think and plan, I have been making list and defining goals. I really have a hard time making decisions. For instance, we have a large full basement full of accumulated junk. For sure I could probably throw away 75% of everything that is in the basement. It has tall ceilings and could be finished into a very livable area. There is even a fireplace in the basement. There are lots of potential uses. There could be a very large entertainment area but is it needed, is a basement the convenient place, would it be used?
I have always said that my life as a doctor was easy. I had one thing to do. I enjoyed my work and my colleagues. I worked hard, got paid well and it monopolized my time. Now I have too many options and opportunities and I am slow and poor at making decisions. I want to try to avoid doing the urgent things like getting the weeds out of my garden at the expense of defining my goals for the rest of my life. I have talked to too many people that have floated thru retirement without any much direction or production other than mowing the yard!
May fair winds fill your sails with goals and dreams
Bob
