Paw Paw - Log Day 263: The Staging Area

After a good night's rest and a lazy morning, we set sail once again. This time to get through the Beqa Passage by sunset and then onward to reach the Navula Passage by daybreak, following which we will enter the area known as the Nadi Waters and the staging area for many yachts awaiting a weather window to sail to New Zealand.

Once settled, we will spend the first few days getting Paw Paw ready for the trek south and then hopefully enjoy some of the touristy things Fiji has to offer while we await a suitable weather window.

Today though, we enjoyed a fabulous sail up to the Beqa Passage and couldn't help but notice that Beqa Island from a distance looks just like Camelback Mountain in Phoenix.

Tonight we are motoring in light winds and flat seas under a beautiful, moonless starry night, with the lights along the shoreline as a reminder that we are not alone out here.
