Midnight Wanderer - Day 4 - Sunday

Sunday morning seemed like a normal Sunday, insofar as we were at home!

After the morning papers and breakfast, I cooked plain scones, using a recipe from Delia's bible, and then we packed up, having had lunch which comprised of hot sausage rolls which the crew had made for the crossing. We did leave some so we won't starve on the way across.  The cabbie we had yesterday turned up and we returned with enough time to spare to fill the scones   (If you ate any, they were filled with clotted cream and raspberry jam) and for Louise to cook the chocolate chip cookies on board, and then off to the tea party. The effort some had taken was impressive and Malia beat the field with filled bread, but there were some wonderful cakes. If their sailing is as good as their baking, then they'll be in Cherbourg before lunch.

Yes, we are departing Haslar tomorrow very very early. There was a further briefing, more advice and I discovered the joys of MMSI, with Roger's help.  Don't they say that we only use ten per cent of any computerised gizmo as we fail to read the manual. RTM!

So our clothes are laid out for the morning, my crew have bought into my plan, we know when we are leaving, ish, so all that remains is to set the alarm.

Next time I post a log, hopefully it will be from Cherbourg and not St. Vaast.

May the "road" rise before you and may the wind be always on your back!
