World Cruising Club’s Event Development Manager Nick Martin was invited to the prestigious Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) in Sydney’s Rushcutters Bay last night to give a presentation on sailing around the world to their members. CYCA, probably the best-known Yacht Club in the country, are also the organisers of the one of the most famous yacht events of all time, the annual Sydney to Hobart race.
Nick was invited by the CYCA committee during his stay in Australia, and presented a very well attended talk at the Club, explaining in detail to the hundred or so members and guests how they can go about putting a lifetime dream in motion of sailing around the world, talking through everything from the typical route taken to what equipment is needed for such a journey. Nick shared some stunning pictures from the last World ARC events, chatted about his experiences with World Cruising, and set the scene to inspire the sailors to get out on the oceans for some real adventure!
During the evening everyone in attendance was invited to join in a free raffle for the chance to win a World Cruising Club embroidered Gill Inshore Sailing Jacket. Local yacht investor David Mason was the lucky winner, having his ticket picked out the bag by CYCA Cruising Chairman John Keelty.
