Farewell Fiji

08 July 2017

Under sunny skies and glorious Fijian weather the World ARC fleet weigh anchor at Musket Cove Marina to begin their journey to Vanuatu.

As the fleet approached the start line of Leg 6, the wind speed was 12 knots SSE and the waters crystal clear in layered colours of blue.

With just two minutes until the 10:00am start, a number of boats were jockeying for position. Congratulations to Sergey and Andrey of Arabela for crossing the line first, followed closely by Ken and Eileen of Aurora, and third Ros and Howard of Misto.

Pat, the Musket Cove Marina Manager, skippered the committee vessel which had aboard Rally Control as well as members of Exit Strategy and Shamal, fleet boats that will stay in the Pacific and join next year’s group of sailors. “Vinaka” to everyone at Musket Cove for the amazing hospitality.

After 450 nm of sailing, the fleet will arrive in beautiful Port Resolution, Tanna, Vanuatu.
