Karma Daze - Day 21 Almost There.....

At last we have some wind!  It arrived about 02.00 this morning and we have been sailing on the genoa since then.  At our current speed we should reach St Lucia in about 26 hours.

By last night when we had been motoring for 3 days we felt that we would never reach our destination – a bit like trying find ones way out of Ikea (apologies to the Swedes).  But we were treated to a fantastic sunset – the whole sky went pink and then a brilliant orange.  A little compensation.

Tonight will be our last night at sea so we will celebrate by eating the Fray Bentos Pies.  These seem to be a standby on any RYA sailing course we have done, so when we saw them for sale in Morrison’s in Gibraltar we couldn’t resist.  So tonight’s menu will be Steak Pie/Chicken Pie, potatoes, peas and open a bottle of Cava.  If anyone wants pud it will be fresh or tinned fruit.  We still have apples and oranges left.

The food supply has worked well; we still have chicken, beef, prawns and dorado in the freezer.  Overstocked a bit on milk and orange juice but as it is all OK until well into next year and will keep us going until May.

This morning the sun is hot, there are a few fluffy clouds around and we are eagerly anticipating our arrival in Rodney Bay, St Lucia.  Richard’s wife Lorraine arrived yesterday courtesy of Mr Branson, so we will have a welcome committee when we tie up.
