Lancelot II - Nearly there!

Date: Mon 10th Dec 2012
Time: 12:10 UTC
Position: 14’51.0N 55’23.4W
SOG: 8-12 knots
COG: 282 M
Weather: Squalls & Cloud
Wind: All over the place but mainly ENE 18-34

Squalls, squalls, and more squalls...  Another night of squalls with high winds and steering by instruments alone as it was to dark to so the horizon or even stars.  You look out and only see black.  We are starting to question if Galileo is taking us to the Caribbean.  The GPS seems to confirm we are 329 miles from St. Lucia, but the weather does not.

We have finished up all of the fruit and vegetables and most of the meat, but we’re still working on the bacon. I think we will finish it off today with bacon and eggs on baguettes.  Squirrel maater Galileo found another bag of potatoes and he promised to make potato wedges with chilli.

A lot of discussions on when we will reach St. Lucia and of course what we are looking forward to when arriving.  This includes a shower, a bed you don’t share with 3 others, (well, 3 other dudes), a toilet where you are not rolling back and forth, dry clothes, drinks, and dirty burgers from a street vendor.  And friends / family of course.

Our arrival time is currently estimated to be around 00:30 local time on December 12 (my birthday).  I see the perfect storm brewing.  An Atlantic crossing, 15+ days without a beer, a birthday.  It could get rough.  Luckily I have a harness and can clip on to the bar.  Safety first.
