With just a few hours left to our destination Sookie was becoming very hard to steer and was being overpowered in the same winds she had coped with the previous few hours. Hmmm?
What appened waaas. The tackline had come away from the bowsprit ( still attached) and our cruising chute was flying considerably higher a looser than before. After dumping the chute we were back to whites and had a comfortable sail into Horta with a stiff breeze of around 20 knots and arrived at 0 Ships Log time 0610 UTC 0710 BST and 0310 Ships log time. We were fortunate enough to have a dockside berth and be the start of a raft. We are not going anywhere for a few days. After tying up the beers were immediately opened and the rest is a blur.
