La Boheme - 24 January 2009 - half way

Today, we have crossed an invisible half way mark between St. Helena and Salvador, 950 miles to go. Yesterday, Paul and Andy from Talulah Ruby, celebrated 1st anniversary of their circumnavigation from Rodney Bay. We have joined in the celebration and at 18.00, all of us toasted on HF. Ours was gin and tonic.

This trip will be the longest at sea, as it will take us 15 days due to lack of wind. The temperature have risen substantially, the sea water is 26C and air 28C, not a lot of difference. Yesterday, Mike and Donna from Baccalieu caught 7kg marlin, we are trying to fish as well but without success. Today, we will have our last St. Helena lettuce, but tomatoes will last us till Salvador.

We are taking advantage of the calm sea and all of us are catching up on different tasks, Greg is processing photos, Ben is planning his sailing trip around Australia and I am writing our diary.
