Fryderyk - Day 9 - Nov 28th, 2022

Day 9
Date: Nov 28th, 2022
Position: 21'07,269N; 31'37,733W
Distance to destination: 1724nm

Today was pretty chilled day. It's a second day in a row when Panda power generator is nice to us and doesn't break, so it really looks like we've solved the issue. With great power comes great privilege of making a laundry! We were all looking forward to it so yeah, it feels awesome to wear fresh clothes, free from ocean salt that builds soft moist shell around everything here.

The wind has weakened to 15kt, but at least we managed to get our Code Zero sail back online. Three times a charm. We like to believe that we've also found the reason why it broke twice earlier and hopefully the issue is eliminated. I really hope so as losing this sail during a night watch can be a bit scary if not dangerous...

We had super nice dinner with grilled veggies, steaks and delicious red wine that Marek bought before we left Las Palmas. We don't drink alcohol whenever we want, each use have to be approved by our Skipper. It makes perfect sense as we have to be ready 24/7. You never know what will happen on a boat that is away from the coast. One moment you're eating and chatting and seconds after you have to rescue sail from drowning and you cannot risk anyone else's safety.

It makes me happy that we really like to spend quality time with each other. We like to cook, eat, tell stories and laugh together. We are all different but our lives are full of memorable moments and we have this courage to share and curiosity to listen to them. It's not something you take for granted when crossing the ocean with people you've just met and you're all basically sentenced to spend majority of your time together, on a boat, with a little room for privacy.

I found some time to finish my first book today (Asimov's Foundation), two others are stil in progress. I also got a sun bath that ended with a red skin (I'm seeing you Barbara rolling your eyes now!) and even managed to exercise a bit! I track some 3,5k-5k steps daily which is way below my in-shore average, but boat can be surprisingly good gym. It moves all the time requiring proper balancing and it takes a little to use it to your advantage.

Few days ago I saw a cloud shaped like a square. Today I've just seen one in a shape of X. I wonder what weird little game heavens play on me.
