Atla came in Monday evening, followed by Coco de Mer, then EQ2 this morning. We went on a half day tour of the city of Salvador. The most stunning thing was the church of St. Francis. Oh wow! Hundreds of kilos of 18 carat gold leaf adorn the interior in fanciful artistic beauty! Then Lars and I had lunch at a cute place in old town with sweet live guitar music. The afternoon was another total loss as we could not get the phone to work to call an uber to go to a grocery market. The frustration of Brazil is that nothing works. It is impossible to walk to a grocery market, and impossible to call a taxi or uber to take you to one. Lars spent 2 and 1/2 hours at the phone shop to try to get the phone to work, and by the time I had sat in the heat for all that time waiting I was over going anywhere except back to the boat for a nap. Tomorrow is another day.
