We booked a table at The Crypt, a famous old Live Jazz club in the basement of St. George’s Cathedral in Cape Town,..paid $600 rand for the booking, took an Uber there. Our table was for 19:00. We arrived at 18:58. The doors were padlocked shut and there was a crazy homeless guy camping out in a tent on the doorstep. NOT the scenario I envisioned for a fabulous night out in Cape Town with my daughter and her boyfriend. We ended up having a lovely evening across the street in a less cool venue, The Taj hotel. Live music, good Cape wine, and delicious food. Still...very dissatisfied with The Crypt for taking our money to book a table and not even being open...lamest nightclub in the world! Oh well!
