Sweet Dream - Day 157 June 21, 2019

Land Ho! At sunrise the northern Lau group island hove into view. We had a pleasant sail to Tongan passage on Vanuabalavu. The pass was easy, the anchor gripped on the first try, and because we were on a lee shore with a solid wall of rock behind us, we put out a scope of ten to one and settled into the anchorage amidst a dozen WARC boats at 10:30 a.m. We were very fortunate to have the wonderful Yellow shirts, Andrew and Swade, to coordinate our check in process in a very timely and efficient manner. The officials of Fiji were an easy bunch of folks to work with, we passed the ukulele around during our paperwork process, and much laughter was had by all. By 17:00, we were legal and clear! We kayaked around the bay a little, exchanging greetings with our fellow WARCers, then came back to the boat for a lovely quiet dinner of tuna piccata (leftover from our catch three days ago), and white wine. It was a wild woolly night, but our ground tackle held beautifully, and we slept the deep sleep of happy travellers on our Sweet Dream.
