Laura Dawn - Pacific Log 14: A Squiggly track

We've continued to draw patterns with our tracker though a series of gybes following the wind that have left us heading north overnight. We were expecting the wind to drop today and so hoisted the spinnaker at first light in preparation, which of course by Murphys law then saw an increase in the wind! We have had 15- 20 knots of wind for most of the day, and only now is it showing any signs of dropping, just a bit too much to risk rolling out the spinnaker.

We're grateful for still having wind though and with less than 350 miles to go we've high hopes of being able to sail all the way to the Marquesas (we're optimitistic folk!).

After hearing of a huge tuna being caught by another boat, we changed our fishing lure and got the lines out again: 2 for good measure .... this did not go well. Our two lines became tangled and we ended up having to cut one to save the other. Over nearly 3000 miles the only thing we have managed to catch is our own line, overall a poor performance from LD on the fishing front :(

Tomorrow we face our biggest challenge yet . . . The LD: Owl Quiz grand finale! Current scores stands at 25 1/2 to LD vs 28 to Owl....there is hope! Time to get some rest and recharge our brain cells!
