The Marquesas are relatively young islands and have not had time to erode down to coral atolls, so they still have mountains that we can see from a distance. Here is our first sight of land after 17 days at sea, the eastern cape of Hiva Oa. Not a very exciting picture, but a significant milestone in our journey. 7BD
