Is this sail suitable for a 12 metre cutter? How much are you asking for it and what do you have with the sail (sniffer, bad, sheets etc.)?

hi Andy,

but the kit is installed?

Indeed, when the system is pickled the membrane should be OK, but ….

I have to calculate a new membrane into the price...

What do you think about the £2500?

Hi

I brought the equipment new last summer, the membrane has been pickled when not in use so I would not expect it to need replacing.

Thanks

Andy

hello Andew,

the kit was already installed on your boat I guess?

That means that the membrane was installed and not flushed during the winter time?

So it needs to be replaced probably…

For £2500 I will buy it!

The watermaker is as new with balance of warranty and will come with all the fitting kit and spares such as a spare pump head which is apparently the only part that ever wears out. A new baby has put or cruising plans on hold temporarily. These are great watermakers, look them up online, brought from Sailfish marine under a year ago. Cost £4100 new, I'm looking for circa £3000. It will be available mid may when the boat arrives back into Southampton.

I brought this for our atlantic crossing with great plans of continuing on but a new baby has changed our plans. THe system is as new and has the A frame set up at the top which makes the unit far more rigid. This cost £5150 (not including the offshore spares kit which will be included) under a year ago so hoping someone can get a reduction on a quality used bit of kit. I'm looking for around £4000. It will be available in mid may when the boat returns to blighty by ship.

Dear Simon

I am reading your post and am in a similar situation, but am flying to usbvi (saint Thomas) to then make my way via ferry to meet friends in the British Virgin Islands to sail to Bermuda. I will have a return flight booked from Bermuda but none out of US soil.

Please can you tell me the outcome of your trip? What visa did you need?

Many thanks

Rhiannon

United Kingdom]Dear All

New here so hello...hope you can help.

I am currently looking to join a yacht to assist the skipper from USBVI to Azores, on a non paid basis.

I hold a UK passport.
Can anyone tell me what VISA to apply for and what additional documentation is required. Also how to get around only having a one way flight (i.e. no return).

I am sure that this is something that some of you will have come across before.
Any information and assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Natalie

Im enrolled on the World ARC 2020. I bought several lots of charts from previous participants to build my self a complete set. As I purchased several job lots, the 67 charts offered are surplus to my needs. The mostly date from the 2013/14 period, although on the list I have noted the date of each chart. I can send you the excel file if you send me your email.

They weigh 8 Kg (just under 18lbs) and my UK postcode is KT13 8XX which is WEYBRIDGE SURREY

Andy,

A couple questions. For which year of the ARC did you purchase the maps? I am in the US. Any idea how much all the maps weigh (rough guess)? I'm trying to get an idea of the shipping costs. Could you provide your zip code? UPS has a website that will give me an estimate. Thank you very much. Natalie Leibensperger

Due to an intended upgrade, I am selling a fully operational Fleet Broadband 250 with Base Station, handset and dome. It has the latest firmware and software. It was originally installed in 2011 and collection is near London.

New price is circa £7000. Offers of circa £2500 will be considered.

It appears that you have had a great deal of interest in your Parasailor. Has it been sold yet as I would very much be interested?

Mainsail stuck

Hi,

Has anyone encountered mainsail being stuck up the mast? This has happened to us twice. The first time we managed to get it lose by pulling in a reef on the electric winch. Today, though, this didn’t work, and I had to go up the mast to unclip the sail at the head. Everything looks fine apart from the halyard not moving past a certain point, but there is nothing indicating why it dos not move.

We have a 40 catamaran so the halyard goes inside the mast.

Anyone had similar experience and found the root cause?
