Im in Barbados and planning a route to Rio dolce Guatemala before June. What is a recomended route for crossing the Caribbean sea, east to west in February-May? Im restricted by way of visas and insurance: cannot go to DR or Haiti for lack of insurance coverage there, cannot go to islands requing US visa ( not eligible for the visa waiver program as well), or places with high clearing in out fees.

Would taking a long leg from Dominica or montserat to Jamaica a good idea for this part of the Caribbean sea these months?

Can anyone offer more info as to crossing the Caribbean?

Would it be acceptable by any of the islands on my route to let us stand on anchor without going ashore at all, for a day or two, and without clearing in and out (flying the yellow flag means one intends to check in I believe)?

Many thanks
