My boat is in Suva Fiji now and am planning my way to Australia. With the cyclone season in NewCal starting in December and in Oz in November- will it be reasonable to go from NewCal to Bundaberg or Brisbane ( supposedly out of cyclone zone) at the begining of November? Going earlier is a bit of a problem due time constraints.
Many thanks,

Michael,

Jimmy Cornell, author of World Cruising Routes, recommends arriving in Australia before the end of October. He also cautions that a hazard of early cyclones exists mid-November. http://www.noonsite.com/

Hi Michael,
Last time I sailed that route was in Jan. 06, just usual problems, its only 4 days so exposure is low. This year however may not be good. There is an Oz weather guy who is good : marine weather services; clouds@ozemail.com.au - roger badham.

Regards,

john
