We are contemplating a voyage from California or Mexico to the Marqueses. Books and pilot charts state that the Marqueses are in the South Pacific cyclone zone. Many resources suggest leaving North America in March or April. Doing further research we found no evidence of cyclones reaching the Marqueses or of the Marqueses being threatened. We have found reports of cruisers heading to the Marqueses to avoid cyclones. Can anyone provide us with information of the Marqueses being hit by cyclones? What are your souces? We are considering leaving North America sometime between November 2016 to January 2017. Thank you for all your help.
