Dear Skippers and Crews,

we will be sailing from Holland to the Canaries this Summer. Due to work, we will need t leave our 35ft sailboat in Portugal for about 2 months. Does anyone know a good, safe and not too expensive place to leave the boat between mid August and mid October?

We are a member of Trans Ocean and welcome all feedback and ideas.

Thanks a lot :-)

It may depend on how far south you want to get before leaving your boat.
You will get a very good rate at http://marinadapovoa.com/ which is just north of Porto, but is still on the tram line to Port Airport.

If you want to be near Lisbon, I recommend Oeiras http://www.noonsite.com/Countries/Portugal/Oeiras but they have limited space for visitors so you should book in advance. There is good access to Lisbon airport.

On the Algarve, you will like Marina de Lagos. It has a great community of live-aboard sailors. Good access to Faro airport and you do not need to go far off your track towards the Canaries as it is right at the SW corner of Portugal.

At Lisbon I would suggest Marina do Parque das Nações (marinaparquedasnacoes.pt). It's very protected from the tides since they have a gate and the prices are much cheaper compared with Oeiras or Cascais
