It is no problem.
Most people on a 3 year circumnavigation usually get go from Canary to West indies in december/january. Then they will leave Panama around early april. The last boats leaving Panama departure in July/August but they won't get that much time in the Pacific cause the cyclone season starts around late December. The prevailing wind in the pacific picks up more between june-august.

Agree with Andres, and don't see any problem with cyclones, if I wanted cross Panama during the end of April I would be more concearn about getting in Colon from Canary in only 2 months. I would concider crosing the chanal up to August, and you still have almost 4 months on the pacific islands
