Hello everybody,
I live on a sailboat Bruce Roberts 48.
I am planning a route to Thailand, leaving the Netherlands in August.
I plan to arrive in Cape Town in december-januar.
The I plan to hub to port Elizabeth.
I read in the book of Jimmy Cornell that the best time in my case, would be may.
Do I get problems with my visa when staying that long in South Africa?
To my opinion it is a lot of oceans to sail, but still faster then the west route.
And less piracy.
But....somebody knows, can you help me out?
With godspeed!
Vincent

Hi Vincent

As an EU citizen, you will be granted 90 days on arrival in SA & can extend it one time only.

See http://www.noonsite.com/Countries/SouthAfrica?rc=Formalities for full details.

Hello Sue, my boat filled up because of syphonning, to much damage to go on, reached Dartmouth, and that was the end.
See at

My financials are dropped down big time, maybe try next year, but for now, I am selling the boat.

Thx, for everything so far.

I hope I get the spirit again!
