I also would endorse Ed Wildgoose at MailaSail. we have just sailed from Roscoff to Las Palmas and we got daily grib file updates via the satphone internet link - send an email with the request and the reply comes virtually instantly. Also Ed's responses to queries when I was setting the system up were rapid and comprehensive. James

Ness, maybe you can try also the Skymate!
I hear good things about it, also some are not that well.
Anyway, a famous dutch sailor, Henk de Velde, said, when he has only one item to choose, he chooses Skymate!
And at a very good price!
Thast said......
I am purchasding one as I wright this, so, when I now more, I tell you.
Succes, Vincent

How about SMS message by mobile or sat phone? You can use nice free sms-tracking service http://myroad.info/index.php?lang=en (help|guide also available in English). Shortly:
1. You register "my trip".

2. When You send to site current coord by sms or email, site put new point together with sms text to map of your trip.

3. If You add WEATHER or WTHR to yours sms, site send reply with 3-day forecast for yours current position.

I used it for several years. last trip, for example, http://myroad.info/492

We used an Iridium phone and Maxsea for weather information on long passages. The SSB and weatherfax was too unreliable.Never had a problem with either reception or the weather info provided.

Hello Ness,
I use the Skymate I1000 now!
It works very good, and pretty fast.
Good price and you get weather, get and send email (and 2 times a day position to any email adres you like for free).
Only gribfile for north america.
I am very happy with it, good price for what you get.
Maybe something to consider!(how long do you need full weather reports)
Good luck!
