We intend to visit ABC Islands summer 2012 and we would like to know wether it is possible (hurricane risks ?). After that, we intend to return to Martinique end of october or beginning of november. Is the cruise ABC islands - Caribbean as difficulat as written in the books ? thank you for answering us. Best regards and a merry christmas.

Francoise, As a long time Caribbean sailor (since 1974), I can tell you that the hurricane season in the Caribbean is considered to be from June through November, with the brunt of it occurring in August / September numerically. That is certainly not to say that you can't get very nasty storms during the other months on occasion. Next, the ABC's are below the general southern hurricane limit of 12 degrees north latitude at the Leeward Islands chain. Most of the hurricane tracks trend northwest after passing the Leewards. Hope that this is of some help.
