I am planning to head off from Seattle to Hawaii in Early to late March and the on to French Polynesia. Is that too early? Any comments on the weather enroute to Hilo would be appreciated

Early March might be pushing a bit, and risking some late winter storms, which are not pleasant off WA-OR. Late March could work, but April is maybe a better bet. Just keep an eye on the weather systems moving across the Pacific, and the location of the Pacific High, and you should be able to choose a fine time. The water gets warmer every day...

I know fall and winter are the wrong times to make this trip to HI but I have an opportunity to work and live aboard. What are the main issues for this time? Storms? Regular lows?
