Saint Lucia - let her inspire you!
The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers has finished in Saint Lucia since 1990 - thats 35 years of warm Lucian welcomes for over 6,500 boats and 32,000 sailors!
With the distinctive peaks of the Piton mountains on the horizon, landfall in Saint Lucia is unmistakable. Nature reserve Pigeon Island is the backdrop of the ARC finish line in Rodney Bay, and any boat lucky enough to finish in daylight is guaranteed a memorable photo opportunity.
Arriving at the dock in Rodney Bay Marina, all the ARC boats are met by the World Cruising Club yellow shirt team to take their lines. And probably more welcome, colleagues from Events Company Saint Lucia bearing rum punches and a basket of fruit. We beleive that crossing the Atlantic is an achievement to be celebrated, and the cheers from fellow sailors and yellow shirts, music on the docks, the taste of a spicy rum punch and the scent of the tropical breeze make the ARC finish something very special.
And that's just the beginning! Parties and celebrations, live music, dancing, a farmers' market with local crafts and produce, a beach barbecue at Spinnakers Bar, sunset cruise to the Anse le Rey fish-fry, and the famous prizegiving evening that rounds-off the ARC in Saint Lucia. All these activities help the sailors find their Caribbean groove and prepare them for a wonderful Christmas.
