Changes to the Rally Program in Hampton

Changes to the Rally Program in Hampton
28 October 2012

The weather continues to be on everyone's mind here in Hampton as the center of Hurricane Sandy remain offshore of Cape Hatteras this morning. At the moment, it's only drizzling in downtown Hampton, but the breeze is up and an extra high-tide has brought the water in Hampton river right up to the dock. It appears, however, that the worst of the weather is coming tomorrow, according to local forecasts, with a clearing expected sometime late Tuesday. See the 'Weather' page on the website for a detailed forecast.

The Rally Staff met briefly this morning to discuss changes to the program in Hampton. We'll continue as planned today (Sunday), with safety inspections beginning this morning for those boats who have signed up, and another welcome drinks reception this evening in the dockside ballroom at Hampton Pubic Piers. Though the program lists the cocktail hour as starting at 6pm, we've moved the time up to 5:30pm, so come and join the staff for an evening beverage and get out of the rain!

Thanks to the grim forecast for Monday, the Rally Office has decided to cancel the seminar program, which will be re-scheduled for Wednesday at the same times. Those seminars are as follows, and again, will be moved from MONDAY to WEDNESDAY.

Seminar Program for Wednesday, October 31 (rescheduled from Monday, October 29):

9am: Provisioning - Julie Palm

10am: Fuel and Water Planning - Rick Palm

11am: Fishing - Davis Murray

1pm: Ladies Round Table - Julie Palm & Mia Karlsson

The evening Welcome Reception hosted by the Hampton Convention and Visitors Bureau will remain on the schedule for Monday evening, as planned.
