Escapado - 28th November

Early morning on the graveyard shift the day started with Eddie being slapped on the back by a flying fish, retrieved by Jake the fish was quickly returned to the water with the rest of the crew laughing. As the sun rose we hoisted the spinnaker, the huge yellow and blue kite pulled us through the water, we sailed to the wind rather than a bearing due to fluky winds. This made the team work harder as the two folk on the sheet worked together along with the helmsman to keep the kite full this continued throughout the whole day and evening with efforts to surf the waves with full communication from the team. Our top speed, made by Eddie was 15.1 knots however we averaged
around 8-9 knots pulling us in front of Rainmaker, the handicap still keeps us back however if we sustain our pace we will be pushing to beat them.
