Exocet Strike - 2-3 February 2017

Some great winds overnight pushing us in the desired direction, but this afternoon it all went quiet, hopefully it will pick up again and send us in the right direction. Currently heading 20 degrees to far north, but I don't want to gybe since I'm sure the wind will go more easterly soon. Always a difficult call but we don't want to be tubing in the dark, all manner of things can go wrong then.
No fish today either, and it's not just us, several boats haven't caught anything. One do catch a 20lb Tuna. Another boat had strikes on both rods and lost the catch. It does happen. We had to cut a line off the Great Barrier Reef when the reel wouldn't stop spooling out. Not sure how big it was but we have 80lb line and a strong brake on the reel, so it must have been big!
A new marina for us in Salvador, it's a more expensive one but much nicer apparently, works out at £49 per day for us but we should get a discount through World Arc, we will report back.
