Exocet Strike - 15-16 January 2017

Last night was another great sail, plenty of wind, boat balanced, some moon out and going in the right direction, until this morning. No dramas, just that the wind went mower SE instead of SE, meaning we couldn't make for St Helena, more like the coast of Brazil. So when all three of us were up, about 1030 we gybed from Port to Starboard. For those who don't know this means changing the boats heading and moving the sails from one side of the boat to the other, now we're heading pretty much straight for St Helena.
Every so often, half an hour to an hour we get a squall come through, unlike, so far, the North Atlantic squalls which can go from 15 to 35 knots in a very short space of time, these tend to go from maybe 18 to 25 knots gradually. Much more manageable.
Still looking like we could arrive in St Helena on Saturday, if the wind holds up.
