Paw Paw - Log Day 101: Interrupted by Mother Nature

Today was a fabulous day and our spirits have not been dampened by the unpleasant weather that has arrived this evening as forecasted - They got it right for a change, but we'd much preferred it if they'd got it wrong!

It is the first time ever on Paw Paw that a bottle of wine has been flung off the cockpit table and all sorts of things flung around the galley. All of this while trying to get Gina and Andy, from Into the Blue, safely back in their dinghy after they stopped by for a visit. The culprit - A tropical depression which is passing south west of us, but the outer band causing strong winds on the bow and waves on the beam. Fortunately it didn't last long and we were definitely better off than some of the other WARC yachts that were on mooring balls which broke free, sending them drifting in the middle of the storm. Mayhem to say the least, but everyone managed to get the situation under control.

The rest of the day was far more pleasant. Although Elaine wanted to sleep in after our night with Overseas Express, she woke to the noise of Roy putting the dinghy in the water and heading off in search of a freshly baked baquette and croissants. One of the many great reasons to get up and face the day!

After breakfast and a laze around, Roy dropped Elaine off at the Kia Ora Hotel for her Spa morning - A Kia Ora Signature Full-Body Massage, followed by a facial - The best $230 Elaine says she has ever spent.

The massage was absolutely fabulous and one she desperately needed. By the end of it, there wasn't a muscle or limb that hadn't been rubbed, prodded, stretched and relaxed - Heavenly!

Feeling wonderfully relaxed, it was off to enjoy lunch at Josephine's and then had a lovely surprise when we realised the yacht entering the pass was Into the Blue whom we hadn't seen since leaving Hiva Oa. The rest of the afternoon was spent catching up with all aboard Into the Blue before we were rudely interrupted by the Mother Nature!
