Mad Monkey - Regaining momentum with an extra navigational light!

Unfortunately, after our successful start across the line on Sunday, we have lost a lot of places in our fleet as we took a very wide route around the southern tip of the island and did not take full advantage of the 'inside' wind; never mind though, apparently it's not a race!
Since then we've had varying winds so have been playing with the spinnakers and the code zero. The night shift just brought 8 kts of breeze which meant we were able to fly the code zero with an average boat speed of 8+ kts. All was going well until the barber haul shackle broke (we bent / broke a 6mm stainless steel shackle in 9 kts of breeze!) so we had to quickly furl in and replace it with the foresail. Amongst the rush of clipping on and standing on the side whilst frantically pulling the K5 furling line, Martin's head torch somehow was removed from his head and ended up attached inside of the code 0. There was no time to stop pulling and try and retrieve the light so we watched it slowly get pulled in towards the wrapped up sail. Now we sit in the cockpit, watching his red light shine from the front of the boat, it's too high for anybody to grab it so we held off and watched the batteries run almost dry! Now we're running with an extra navigational light!
