Lexington - Captain Bob: Wineflys tour

We signed up for a tour by a company called Wineflys. They had a two day tour called The Forgotten Trail. It was to a small village called Matjiesfpntein. It was along the railroad from Capetown to Johannesburg. An entrepreneur named James Logan set up a station along the railway. He was smart enough to establish a source of water which was valuable. The rail roads ran on steam engines. It took lots of water to make the trip. He also provided food and lodging for passages. It was a boom time of diamonds and gold. Lucas was also good at buying and selling diamonds and gold. He was probably a manic. He invited the Queen of England to visit his place in no where. He also invited the national cricket team from England and promptly beat them. The village has a population of about 300 now and is mainly for tourist. People driving also use it as a stop over.
