Blonde Moment - Blonde Moment 21nov

Blog 2

Hello to all our friends and family!

After an exciting start and great send off with brass bands, lots of spectators and boats fighting for the line, we're off, only 5 minutes late over the line!

Fabulous sailing conditions and, after 3 sail changes in the first hour, we settled into a great routine of downwind sailing, poled out headsail, goosewinging at a nice, steady 8knots!

The first night was spent avoiding other yachts in the ARC but by early Monday morning "Where is everyone, are we going in the right direction was the cry from the crew"!!

In the night, the wind died and now we are motoring, the Atlantic is a millpond, but fabulous for seeing the friendly dolphins and sea turtles who have already been to visit! However, the flat sea has enabled us to catch a very pretty Mahi Mahi (poor thing!) for dinner, so a few more days in the doldrums and we won't starve! Stronger winds are forecast though so hope to be back on track with our optimistic goal of 200 miles a day, achieved on day one!

Bye for now from Blonde Moment!

Out!!!!
